William "Bill" C. Podella

December 5, 1932 ~ April 24, 2016 (age 83) 83 Years Old

William “Bill” C. Podella, 83 of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Aurora Hospital in Burlington, WI.  Bill was born December 5, 1932 in Bassett, WI, the son of the late William E. and Catherine (Rush) Podella.  He married Rose Seitz on June 21, 1958 at Holy Name Church in Wilmot, WI.  Bill served in the United States Army after graduating Wilmot High School Class of 1950.  Bill was a lifelong Kenosha County resident and was the owner of Bill’s Plumbing and Heating for over twenty-six years.  Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, fly tying, bowling, golfing and traveling.  One of his proudest accomplishments was visiting all 50 States.  

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose, four children; Mary (James) Giles, Lori (Robert) Hanson, Michael (Jodi) Podella and Karen (Darren) Reiman, seven grandchildren; Logan (Lisa) Giles, Ashley (Scott) Thomas, Andrew (Lauren) Hanson, Becky (Randy) Niziol, Luke, Austin and Carli Podella, nine great-grandchildren and Baby Boy Hanson coming in May. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Ann and brother, Robert.

Funeral Mass will be 7:00PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6301 344th Ave, New Munster, WI 53152, with Father Terry Langley officiating.  Visitation will be 3:00PM until service time Wednesday at church.  Private family burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Food Pantry, 701 N Lake Ave. Twin Lakes, WI 53181or American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.  Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the Podella Family.  Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.

The family would like to give special thanks to our friend Dr. David Taylor and his staff for their care and compassion.  We would also like to thank the countless nurses and staff at Aurora Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, Mercy Health Care System who helped Bill with his various health issues.
